Opening Reflection: The Breath Beneath It All
Have you ever felt inexplicably tired, even after getting "enough" sleep? Or maybe full of emotion with no clear reason for it?
Lately, I’ve been paying attention to the invisible why underneath how I feel.
Not the to-do list. Not the calendar. Not the news.
But something deeper—like a quiet hum beneath it all. Like a pulse or a breath. Maybe a subtle current.
One day last week, I was drinking my morning latte, and my gaze landed on the swaying branches outside. They weren’t moving randomly—they were responding to the breeze. (It's been pretty windy in the Coachella Valley the last few weeks.) And I thought, “That’s me. That’s us. Responding to the unseen energy moving through us all.”
That’s the life force.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine—the origin of Yin Yoga—it’s called Qi. In Classical Vedic Yoga, it’s Prana.
And no matter what we call it, we know when it’s flowing… and when it’s not.
This week, I’m inviting you to explore these sacred inner currents—to return to the breath beneath it all and remember:
✨ You are energy in motion. ✨ You are allowed to feel it. ✨ You are allowed to flow.
Life Force Healing: Qi, Prana & the Art of Balance
Qi and Prana are not just ancient ideas—they are the sacred threads weaving through your breath, your emotions, your nervous system, and your creative spark. They are the animating force within us.
When Qi or Prana is blocked, we may feel:
🌑 Heavy, stagnant, anxious, or creatively drained.
🌑 Disconnected from purpose or joy.
🌑 Out of sync with our body and breath.
When they’re flowing freely, we experience:
🌕 Clarity, vitality, lightness, and ease.
🌕 Emotional freedom and energetic balance.
🌕 A sense of being deeply rooted and simultaneously uplifted.
In this week’s Yoga Nidra, we’ll explore:
Qi and Prana as sacred inner rivers
Breathwork inspired by Nadi Shodhana, done energetically
Visualization of floating in a radiant stream of life force
Rebalancing Yin & Yang within the subtle body
Sankalpa to anchor vitality and inner radiance
Let this be your reminder: You are not separate from nature. You are nature. You are breath. You are energy. You are light.

Bonus (A week late... 😬🫣🙄)
I'd planned to put this recipe in the newsletter last week and it slipped through editing. I'd fire my editor if this wasn't a one (wo)man band! 🙄
So here it is—a nice, easy recipe for Golden Milk... just in case you need a little treat before bed! 😘
Simple Golden Milk Recipe (1 serving)
Ingredients:
1 cup milk of your choice (oat, almond, or regular milk)
½ teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1 teaspoon freshly grated)*
Pinch of black pepper (important for absorption)
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions:
Heat the milk in a small pot until warm but not boiling.
Stir in turmeric and black pepper.
Sweeten (after you have removed from heat) if desired.
Pour into your favorite mug and sip slowly.
That’s it—4 ingredients, 5 minutes, one warm hug in a cup.
*Fresh turmeric is milder in flavor but still potent, so this amount keeps your golden milk balanced—warm and earthy without being overpowering. Personally, I prefer the taste of fresh turmeric.
Tip: You can grate it straight into the pot and strain before serving if you prefer a smoother texture.
I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you. Thank you for being here, I appreciate you. 💖✨
Congratulations on breaking 💯! Woohoo 🎉
